18The elders of that city are to take the man and chastise him. 19They must fine him one hundred [shekels] of silver, and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has given a bad name to a virgin of Israel. She will be his wife. He may not send her away all his days. 20But if this matter is true, that the evidence of virginity was not found with the young lady, 21then they are to bring out the young lady to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city will stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Israel, to play the prostitute in her father's house. This is how you are to purge the evil from among you.
22If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they must both die, the man who lay with the woman and the woman. This is how you are to purge the evil from Israel. 23If there is a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man finds her in the city, and lies with her, 24then bring them both out to the gate of that city, and stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn't cry [out], being in the city; and the man, because he has humiliated his neighbor's wife. This is how you are to purge the evil from among you. 25But if the man finds the lady who is pledged to be married in the field, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her is to die; 26but do nothing to the lady. There is no sin worthy of death in the lady. This matter is just the same as when a man rises against his neighbor and kills him; 27for he found her in the field, the pledged to be married lady cried [out], and there was no one to save her. 28If a man finds a lady who is a virgin, who is not pledged to be married, grabs her and lies with her, and they are found, 29then the man who lay with her is to give to the lady's father fifty [shekels] of silver. She will be his wife, because he has humiliated her. He may not send her away all his days. 30A man must not have his father's wife, and must not uncover his father's skirt.

1Now the word of Yahweh came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2"Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach against it, for their wickedness has come up before me."
3But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of Yahweh. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid its fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of Yahweh.
4But Yahweh sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty storm on the sea, so that the ship was likely to break up. 5Then the mariners were afraid, and every man cried to his gods. They threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone down into the innermost parts of the ship, and he was laying down, and was fast asleep. 6So the shipmaster came to him, and said to him, "What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God! Maybe your God will notice us, so that we won't perish."
7They all said to each other, "Come, let us cast lots, that we may know who is responsible for this evil that is on us." So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah. 8Then they asked him, "Tell us, please, for whose cause this evil is on us. What is your occupation? Where do you come from? What is your country? Of what people are you?"
9He said to them, "I am a Hebrew, and I fear Yahweh, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land."
10Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said to him, "What is this that you have done?" For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of Yahweh, because he had told them. 11Then they said to him, "What shall we do to you, that the sea may be calm to us?" For the sea grew more and more stormy.
12He said to them, "Take me up, and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will be calm for you; for I know that because of me this great storm is on you."
13Nevertheless the men rowed hard to get them back to the land; but they could not, for the sea grew more and more stormy against them. 14Therefore they cried to Yahweh, and said, "We beg you, Yahweh, we beg you, don't let us die for this man's life, and don't lay on us innocent blood; for you, Yahweh, have done as it pleased you." 15So they took up Jonah, and threw him into the sea; and the sea ceased its raging. 16Then the men feared Yahweh exceedingly; and they offered a sacrifice to Yahweh, and made vows.
17Yahweh prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
1Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish's belly. 2He said, "I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice. 3For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me. 4I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.' 5The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head. 6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever; yet you have brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God. 7"When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Yahweh. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple. 8Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 9But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Yahweh."
10Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.

14About these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, ForeverOne came with ten thousands of his holy ones, 15to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their actions of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly shortcomers have spoken against him." 16These are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts and their mouth speaks proud things, showing respect of persons to gain advantage. 17But you, dear-ones, remember the words which have been spoken before by the ambassadors of our Lord Jesus AnointedOne. 18They said to you, "In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts." 19These are those who cause divisions and are sensual, not having the Spirit.
20But you, dear-ones, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. 21Keep yourselves in the selfless-love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus AnointedOne to eternal life. 22On some have compassion, making a distinction, 23and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.
24Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy, 25to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Absolutely.
