24Moses went out, and told the people Yahweh's words; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent. 25Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more. 26But two men remained in the camp. The name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad; and the Spirit rested on them. They were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp. 27A young man ran, and told Moses, and said, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp!"
28Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, "My lord Moses, forbid them!"
29Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all Yahweh's people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!"
30Moses went into the camp, he and the elders of Israel. 31A wind from Yahweh went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth. 32The people rose up all that day, and all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails. He who gathered least gathered ten homers; and they spread them all out for themselves around the camp. 33While the flesh was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, Yahweh's anger burned against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague. 34The name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who lusted.
35From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.

21Set up road signs, make guideposts; set your heart toward the highway, even the way by which you went: turn again, virgin of Israel, turn again to these your cities. 22How long will you go here and there, you backsliding daughter? for Yahweh has created a new thing in the earth: a woman shall encompass a man. 23Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, "Yet again shall they use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I shall bring again their captivity: Yahweh bless you, habitation of righteousness, mountain of holiness. 24Judah and all its cities shall dwell in it together, the farmers, and those who go about with flocks. 25For I have satiated the weary soul, and every sorrowful soul have I replenished.
26On this I awakened, and saw; and my sleep was sweet to me.
27Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the offspring of man, and with the offspring of animal. 28As I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down and to overthrow and to destroy and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says Yahweh. 29In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge. 30But everyone shall die for his own iniquity: every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.
31Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was married to them, says Yahweh. 33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people: 34and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more. 35Yahweh, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar, Yahweh of Armies is his name, says, 36"If these ordinances depart from before me," says Yahweh, "then the offspring of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever." 37Yahweh says, "If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then I will also reject all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done, says Yahweh.
38Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that the city shall be built to Yahweh from the tower of Hananel to the gate of the corner. 39The measuring line shall go out further straight onward to the hill Gareb, and shall turn about to Goah. 40The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy to Yahweh; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever.
1The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. 2Now at that time the king of Babylon's army was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah's house.
3For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Why do you prophesy, and say, Yahweh says, "Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it; 4and Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall see his eyes; 5and he shall bring Zedekiah to Babylon, and he shall be there until I visit him, says Yahweh: though you fight with the Chaldeans, you shall not prosper?

27I will also appoint him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. 28I will keep my loving kindness for him forevermore. My covenant will stand firm with him. 29I will also make his offspring endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven. 30If his children forsake my law, and don't walk in my ordinances; 31if they break my statutes, and don't keep my commandments; 32then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their iniquity with lashes. 33But I will not completely take my loving kindness from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail. 34I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered. 35Once have I sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David. 36His offspring will endure forever, his throne like the sun before me. 37It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky."selah.
38But you have rejected and spurned. You have been angry with your anointed. 39You have renounced the covenant of your servant. You have defiled his crown in the dust. 40You have broken down all his hedges. You have brought his strongholds to ruin. 41All who pass along the road rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors. 42You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries. You have made all of his enemies rejoice. 43Yes, you turn back the edge of his sword, and haven't supported him in battle. 44You have ended his splendor, and thrown his throne down to the ground. 45You have shortened the days of his youth. You have covered him with shame.
selah.
46How long, Yahweh? Will you hide yourself forever? Will your wrath burn like fire? 47Remember how short my time is!
Have you created-from-nothing all the children of men for such emptiness? 48What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol?
selah.
49LordOfMine, where are your former loving kindnesses, which you swore to David in your faithfulness? 50Remember, LordOfMine, the reproach of your servants, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the mighty peoples, 51With which your enemies have mocked, Yahweh, with which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed. 52Blessed be Yahweh forevermore. Absolutely, and Absolutely.
[BOOK 3 end]

7For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man. 8For man is not from woman, but woman from man; 9for man wasn't created for the woman, but woman for the man. 10So the woman ought to have authority on her head, because of the angels. 11Nevertheless, neither is the woman independent of the man, nor the man independent of the woman, in the Lord. 12For as woman came from man, so a man also comes through a woman; but all things are from God. 13Judge for yourselves. Is it appropriate that a woman pray to God unveiled? 14Doesn't even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? 15But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering. 16But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God's assemblies.
17But in giving you this command, I don't praise you, that you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18For first of all, when you come together in the assembly, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it. 19For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you. 20So when you assemble yourselves together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat. 21For in your eating each one takes his own supper first. One is hungry, and another is drunk. 22What, don't you have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God's assembly and put them to shame who don't have enough? What shall I tell you? Shall I praise you? In this I do not praise you.
23For I received from the Lord what also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread. 24When he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me." 25In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me." 26For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
27So whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord's cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. 29For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself if he doesn't discern the Lord's body. 30For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. 31For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn't be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. 33So, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest your coming together be for judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come.
