Deuteronomy Chapter 33

⁸About Levi he said,
"Your Thummim and your Urim are with your godly one,
whom you proved at Massah,
whom you contended with at the waters of Meribah.
⁹He said of his father, and of his mother, 'I have not seen him.'
He didn't acknowledge his brothers, nor did he know his own children; for they have observed your word, and keep your covenant. ¹⁰They'll teach Jacob your ordinances, and Israel your law. They'll put incense before you, and whole burnt offering on your altar. ¹¹Yahweh, bless his ability.
Accept the work of his hands.
Strike through the hips of those who rise up against him,
of those who hate him, so they don't rise again."

¹²About Benjamin he said,
"The beloved of Yahweh lives in safety.
He covers him all the day long.
He lives between his shoulders."

¹³About Joseph he said,
"His land is blessed by Yahweh,
for the precious things of the heavens, for the dew,
for the deep that couches beneath,
¹⁴for the precious things of the fruits of the sun,
for the precious things that the [passing of the] moon can yield,
¹⁵for the best things of the ancient mountains,
for the precious things of the everlasting hills,
¹⁶for the precious things of the earth and its fullness,
the good will of him who lived in the bush.
Let [these blessings] come on the head of Joseph,
on the crown of the head of him who was set aside from his brothers.
¹⁷Majesty belongs to the firstborn of his herd.
His horns are the horns of the wild ox.
With them he'll push all the peoples to the ends of the earth.
They are the myriads of Ephraim.
They are the thousands of Manasseh."

¹⁸About Zebulun he said,
"Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out;
and Issachar, in your tents.
¹⁹They will call the peoples to the mountain.
There they will offer sacrifices of righteousness,
for they will draw out the abundance of the seas,
the hidden treasures of the sand."

²⁰About Gad he said,
"He who enlarges Gad is blessed.
He lives as a lioness,
and tears the arm and the scalp.
²¹He provided the first part for himself,
for the lawgiver's portion was reserved for him.
He came [with] the heads of the people.
He executed the righteousness of Yahweh,
His ordinances with Israel."

²²About Dan he said,
"Dan is a lion's cub
that leaps out of Bashan."

²³About Naphtali he said,
"Naphtali, satisfied with favor,
full of Yahweh's blessing,
Possess the west and the south."

Malachi Chapter 1

¹An oracle: the word of Yahweh to Israel by Malachi.

²"I have loved you," says Yahweh. Yet you say, "How have you loved us?" "Wasn't Esau Jacob's brother?" says Yahweh, "Yet I loved Jacob; ³but Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness." ⁴Whereas Edom says, "We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places;" thus says Yahweh of Armies, "They shall build, but I will throw down; and men will call them 'The Wicked Land,' even the people against whom Yahweh shows wrath forever."

⁵Your eyes will see, and you will say, "Yahweh is great - even beyond the border of Israel!"

⁶"A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? Says Yahweh of Armies to you, priests, who despise my name. You say, 'How have we despised your name?' ⁷You offer polluted bread on my altar. You say, 'How have we polluted you?' In that you say, 'Yahweh's table contemptible.' ⁸When you offer the blind for sacrifice, isn't that evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, isn't that evil? Present it now to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person?" says Yahweh of Armies.

⁹"Now, please entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?" says Yahweh of Armies.

¹⁰"Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you," says Yahweh of Armies, "nor will I accept an offering at your hand. ¹¹For from the rising of the sun even to its going down, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering: for my name is great among the nations," says Yahweh of Armies. ¹²"But you profane it, in that you say, 'Yahweh's table is polluted, and its fruit, even its food, is contemptible.' ¹³You say also, 'Behold, what a weariness it is!' and you have sniffed at it," says Yahweh of Armies; "and you have brought what was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering. Should I accept this at your hand?" says Yahweh.

¹⁴"But the deceiver is cursed, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to LordOfMine a defected thing; for I am a great King," says Yahweh of Armies, "and my name is awesome among the nations."

Malachi Chapter 2

¹"Now, you priests, this commandment is for you. ²If you will not listen, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name," says Yahweh of Armies, "then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart. ³Behold, I will rebuke your offspring, and will spread dung on your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it. ⁴You will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi," says Yahweh of Armies. ⁵"My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might be reverent toward me; and he was reverent toward me, and stood in awe of my name. ⁶The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity. ⁷For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Yahweh of Armies. ⁸But you have turned aside out of the way. You have caused many to stumble in the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi," says Yahweh of Armies. ⁹"Therefore I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law. ¹⁰Don't we all have one father? Hasn't one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers? ¹¹Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of Yahweh which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god. ¹²Yahweh will cut off, to the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob, and him who offers an offering to Yahweh of Armies.

Daniel Chapter 11

²⁵He shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall war in battle with an exceeding great and mighty army; but he shall not stand; for they shall devise devices against him. ²⁶Yes, they who eat of his dainties shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow; and many shall fall down slaughtered. ²⁷As for both these kings, their hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table: but it shall not prosper; for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. ²⁸Then he shall return into his land with great substance; and his heart [shall be] against the holy covenant; and he shall do [his pleasure], and return to his own land.

²⁹At the time appointed he shall return, and enter the south; but it shall not be in the latter time as it was in the former. ³⁰For ships of Kittim shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and shall return, and have indignation against the holy covenant, and shall do [his pleasure]: he shall even return, and have regard to those who forsake the holy covenant.

³¹Forces shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and shall take away the continual [burnt offering], and they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate. ³²He will corrupt those who act wickedly against the covenant by flatteries; but the people who know their God will be strong, and take action.

³³Those who are wise among the people shall instruct many; yet they shall fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by plunder, [many] days. ³⁴Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help; but many shall join themselves to them with flatteries. ³⁵Some of those who are wise shall fall, to refine them, and to purify, and to make them white, even to the time of the end; because it is yet for the time appointed.

³⁶The king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper until the indignation be accomplished; for what is determined shall be done. ³⁷Nor will he regard the gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall magnify himself above all. ³⁸But in his place he shall honor the god of fortresses; and a god whom his fathers didn't know he shall honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. ³⁹He shall deal with the strongest fortresses by the help of a foreign god: whoever acknowledges [him] he will increase with glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price.

Revelation Chapter 21

⁹One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, "Come here. I will show you the wife, the Lamb's bride." ¹⁰He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, as if it were a jasper stone, clear as crystal; ¹²having a great and high wall; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. ¹³On the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. ¹⁴The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve ambassadors of the Lamb.

¹⁵He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls. ¹⁶The city is square, and its length is as great as its width. He measured the city with the reed, Twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal. ¹⁷Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. ¹⁸The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass. ¹⁹The foundations of the city's wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

²²I saw no temple in it, for ForeverOne God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple. ²³The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb. ²⁴The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. ²⁵Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there), ²⁶and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter. ²⁷There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
