Leviticus Chapter 9

¹On the eighth day, Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; ²and he said to Aaron, "Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without defect, and offer them in Yahweh's presence. ³Speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without defect, for a burnt offering; ⁴and a bull and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice in Yahweh's presence; and a meal offering mixed with oil: for today Yahweh appears to you.'"

⁵They brought what Moses commanded before the Tent of Meeting. All the congregation came near and stood in Yahweh's presence. ⁶Moses said, "This is the thing which Yahweh commanded that you should do; and Yahweh's glory shall appear to you." ⁷Moses said to Aaron, "Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as Yahweh commanded."

⁸So Aaron came near to the altar, and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. ⁹The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar; ¹⁰but the fat, and the kidneys, and the cover from the liver of the sin offering, he burned upon the altar, as Yahweh commanded Moses. ¹¹The flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp. ¹²He killed the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it around on the altar. ¹³They delivered the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, and the head. He burned them upon the altar. ¹⁴He washed the innards and the legs, and burned them on the burnt offering on the altar.

Isaiah Chapter 11

⁶The wolf will live with the lamb,
and the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together;
and a little child will lead them.
⁷The cow and the bear will graze.
Their young ones will lie down together.
The lion will eat straw like the ox.
⁸The nursing child will play near a cobra's hole,
and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den.
⁹They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain;
for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh,
as the waters cover the sea.

¹⁰In that day the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.

¹¹In that day LordOfMine will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. ¹²He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. ¹³The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won't envy Judah, and Judah won't persecute Ephraim. ¹⁴They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them. ¹⁵Yahweh will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals. ¹⁶There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Isaiah Chapter 12

¹In that day you will say, "I will give thanks to you, Yahweh; for though you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you comfort me.

²Look, God is my salvation.
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
[because] Yah, Yahweh, is my strength and song;
and he has become my salvation."

³Therefore with joy you will draw water out of the wells of salvation.

⁴In that day you will say,
"Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name!
Declare his actions among the peoples!
Proclaim that his name is exalted!
⁵Sing to Yahweh, for he has done excellent things!
Let this be known in all the earth!
⁶Cry aloud and shout,
you inhabitant of Zion,
for the Holy One of Israel
is great among you!"

Isaiah Chapter 13

¹The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw:

²Set up a banner on the bare mountain! Lift up your voice to them! Wave your hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles. ³I have commanded my consecrated ones; yes, I have called my mighty men for my anger, even my proudly exulting ones. ⁴The noise of a multitude is in the mountains, as of a great people; the noise of an uproar of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! Yahweh of Armies is mustering the army for the battle. ⁵They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even Yahweh, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

⁶Wail; for the day of Yahweh is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty. ⁷Therefore all hands will be feeble, and everyone's heart will melt. ⁸They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame.

Job Chapter 31

²⁴"If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold, 'You are my confidence;' ²⁵If I have rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had obtained much; ²⁶if I have seen the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in splendor, ²⁷and my heart has been secretly enticed, and my hand threw a kiss from my mouth, ²⁸this also would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges; for I should have denied the God who is above.

²⁹"If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him; ³⁰(yes, I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking his life with a curse); ³¹if the men of my tent have not said, 'Who can find one who has not been filled with his meat?' ³²(the foreigner has not lodged in the street, but I have opened my doors to the traveler); ³³if like Adam I have covered my transgressions, by hiding my iniquity in my heart, ³⁴because I feared the great multitude, and the contempt of families terrified me, so that I kept silence, and didn't go out of the door - ³⁵oh that I had one to hear me! (behold, here is my signature, let the Almighty answer me); let the accuser write my indictment! ³⁶Surely I would carry it on my shoulder; and I would bind it to me as a crown. ³⁷I would declare to him the number of my steps. as a prince would I go near to him. ³⁸If my land cries out against me, and its furrows weep together; ³⁹if I have eaten its fruits without money, or have caused its owners to lose their life,

The words of Job are ended.

Job Chapter 32

¹So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes. ²Then the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram, burned against Job. His wrath burned because he justified himself rather than God. ³Also his wrath burned against his three friends, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job. ⁴Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job, because they were elder than he. ⁵When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath burned.

⁶Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered,

"I am young, and you are very old; Therefore I held back, and didn't dare show you my opinion. ⁷I said, 'Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.' ⁸But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding. ⁹It is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice. ¹⁰Therefore I said, 'Listen to me; I also will show my opinion.'

Acts Chapter 7

¹⁷"But as the time of the promise came close which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, ¹⁸until there arose a different king, who didn't know Joseph. ¹⁹The same took advantage of our race, and mistreated our fathers, and forced them to throw out their babies, so that they wouldn't stay alive. ²⁰At that time Moses was born, and was exceedingly handsome. He was nourished three months in his father's house. ²¹When he was thrown out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up and reared him as her own son. ²²Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. He was mighty in his words and actions. ²³But when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the sons of Israel. ²⁴Seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him who was oppressed, striking the Egyptian. ²⁵He supposed that his brothers understood that God, by his hand, was giving them deliverance; but they didn't understand.

²⁶"The day following, he appeared to them as they fought, and urged them to be at peace again, saying, 'Sirs, you are brothers. Why do you wrong one another?' ²⁷But he who wronged his neighbor pushed him away, saying, 'Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? ²⁸Do you want to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?' ²⁹Moses fled at this saying, and became a stranger in the land of Midian, where he fathered two sons.

³⁰"When forty years were fulfilled, an angel of ForeverOne appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush. ³¹When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight. As he came close to see, a voice of ForeverOne came to him, ³²'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' Moses trembled, and dared not look. ³³ForeverOne said to him, 'Take off your sandals, for the place where you stand is holy ground. ³⁴I have surely seen the affliction of my people that is in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.'
