Numbers Chapter 35

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, ²"Command the children of Israel to give to the Levites cities to live in from their inheritance. Give pasture lands for the cities around them to the Levites. ³They shall have the cities to live in. Their pasture lands shall be for their livestock, and for their possessions, and for all their animals.

⁴"The pasture lands of the cities, which you'll give to the Levites, will be from the wall of the city and outward one thousand cubits around it. ⁵Measure outside of the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the middle. This shall be the pasture lands of their cities.

⁶"The cities which you'll give to the Levites, will be the six cities of refuge, which you'll give for the man-slayer to flee to. Besides them you'll give forty-two cities. ⁷All the cities which you'll give to the Levites will be forty-eight cities together with their pasture lands. ⁸Concerning the cities which you'll give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many you'll take many, and from the few you'll take few. Everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give some of his cities to the Levites. ⁹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁰"Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, 'When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, ¹¹then you are to appoint for yourselves cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the man-slayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there. ¹²The cities will be for your refuge from the avenger, that the man-slayer not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment. ¹³The cities which you are to give will be for you six cities of refuge. ¹⁴You are to give three cities beyond the Jordan, and three cities in the land of Canaan. They'll be cities of refuge. ¹⁵These six cities shall be refuge for the children of Israel, for the stranger, and for the foreigner living among them, that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.

¹⁶"'But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death. ¹⁷If he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death. ¹⁸Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death. ¹⁹The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death. When he meets him, he shall put him to death.

Ezekiel Chapter 25

⁸Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations; ⁹therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim, ¹⁰to the children of the east, [to go] against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations. ¹¹and I will execute judgments on Moab; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

¹²Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and revenged himself on them; ¹³therefore thus says LordOfMine Yahweh, I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; even to Dedan shall they fall by the sword. ¹⁴I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, says LordOfMine Yahweh.

¹⁵Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility; ¹⁶therefore thus says LordOfMine Yahweh, Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. ¹⁷I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall lay my vengeance on them.

Ezekiel Chapter 26

¹In the eleventh year, in the first [day] of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, ²Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken: the gate of the peoples; she is turned to me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste: ³therefore thus says LordOfMine Yahweh, Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up. ⁴They shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock. ⁵She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, says LordOfMine Yahweh; and she shall become a plunder to the nations. ⁶Her daughters who are in the field shall be slaughtered with the sword: and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

⁷For thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: Behold, I will bring on Tyre Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and many people. ⁸He shall kill your daughters in the field with the sword; and he shall make forts against you, and build a siege ramp against you, and raise up the buckler against you. ⁹He shall set his battering engines against your walls, and with his axes he shall break down your towers. ¹⁰By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover you: your walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into your gates, as men enter into a city in which is made a breach. ¹¹He shall tread down all your streets with the hoofs of his horses; he shall kill your people with the sword; and the pillars of your strength shall go down to the ground. ¹²They shall make a plunder of your riches, and make a prey of your merchandise; and they shall break down your walls, and destroy your pleasant houses; and they shall lay your stones and your timber and your dust in the midst of the waters. ¹³I will cause the noise of your songs to cease; and the sound of your harps shall be no more heard. ¹⁴I will make you a bare rock; you shall be a place for the spreading of nets; you shall be built no more: for I Yahweh have spoken it, says LordOfMine Yahweh.

Proverbs Chapter 12

²²Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. ²³A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness. ²⁴The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor. ²⁵Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad. ²⁶A righteous person is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. ²⁷The slothful man doesn't roast his game, but the possessions of diligent men are prized. ²⁸In the way of righteousness is life; in its path there is no death.

Proverbs Chapter 13

¹A wise son listens to his father's instruction, but a scoffer doesn't listen to rebuke. ²By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things; but the unfaithful crave violence. ³He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. ⁴The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied. ⁵A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace. ⁶Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner. ⁷There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth. ⁸The ransom of a man's life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats. ⁹The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out. ¹⁰Pride only breeds quarrels, but with ones who take advice is wisdom. ¹¹Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow. ¹²Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. ¹³Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded. ¹⁴The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to turn from the snares of death. ¹⁵Good understanding wins favor; but the way of the unfaithful is hard. ¹⁶Every prudent man acts from knowledge, but a fool exposes folly. ¹⁷A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy gains healing. ¹⁸Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who heeds correction shall be honored. ¹⁹Longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil. ²⁰One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. ²¹Misfortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous. ²²A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous.

1 Timothy Chapter 5

¹Don't rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers; ²the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity.

³Honor widows who are widows indeed. ⁴But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to demonstrate their faith toward their own family and repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God. ⁵Now she who is a widow indeed and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day. ⁶But she who gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives. ⁷Also command these things, that they may be without reproach. ⁸But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

⁹Let no one be enrolled as a widow under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man, ¹⁰being approved by good actions, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

¹¹But refuse younger widows, for when they have grown wanton against AnointedOne, they desire to marry, ¹²having condemnation, because they have rejected their first pledge. ¹³Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not. ¹⁴So I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting. ¹⁵For already some have turned away following Satan. ¹⁶If any man or woman who believes has widows, let them relieve them, and don't let the assembly be burdened, that it might relieve those who are widows indeed.

¹⁷Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching. ¹⁸For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages."

¹⁹Don't receive an accusation against an elder, except at the word of two or three witnesses. ²⁰Those who fall-short, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear. ²¹I command you in the sight of God, and AnointedOne Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality. ²²Don't lay hands hastily on anyone. Don't be a participant in other people's sins. Keep yourself pure.

²³Be no longer a drinker of water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.

²⁴Some men's sins are evident, preceding them to judgment, and some also follow later. ²⁵In the same way also there are good actions that are obvious, and those that are otherwise can't be hidden.
