Numbers 21:1-16

16 verses

Numbers Chapter 21

1The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the South, heard that Israel came by the way of Atharim. He fought against Israel, and took some of them captive. 2Israel vowed a vow to Yahweh, and said, "If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities." 3Yahweh listened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities. The name of the place was called Hormah.

4They traveled from Mount Hor by the road to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. The soul of the people was very discouraged because of the journey. 5The people spoke against God and against Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!"

6Yahweh sent seraphim serpents among the people, and they bit the people. Many people of Israel died. 7The people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us." Moses prayed for the people.

8Yahweh said to Moses, "Make a seraphim serpent, and set it on a pole. Anyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live." 9Moses made a serpent of bronze, and set it on the pole. If a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked at the serpent of bronze, he lived.

10The children of Israel traveled, and camped in Oboth. 11They traveled from Oboth, and camped at Iyeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrise. 12From there they traveled, and camped in the valley of Zered. 13From there they traveled, and camped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness that comes out of the border of the Amorites; for the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites. 14Therefore it is said in the book of Yahweh's Wars, "Vaheb in Suphah, the valleys of the Arnon, 15the slope of the valleys that incline toward the dwelling of Ar, leans on the border of Moab."

16From there they traveled to Beer; that is the well of which Yahweh said to Moses, "Gather the people together, and I will give them water."

Jeremiah 49:28-50:16

28 verses

Jeremiah Chapter 49

28Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck, Yahweh says:

"Arise, go up to Kedar, and destroy the children of the east. 29They will take their tents and their flocks. They will carry away for themselves their curtains, all their vessels, and their camels; and they will cry to them, Terror on every side! 30Flee, wander far off, dwell in the depths, you inhabitants of Hazor," says Yahweh; "for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, and has conceived a purpose against you. 31Arise, go up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without care," says Yahweh; "that have neither gates nor bars, that dwell alone. 32Their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their livestock a plunder: and I will scatter to all winds those who have the corners [of their hair] cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them," says Yahweh. 33"Hazor shall be a dwelling place of jackals, a desolation forever: no man shall dwell there, nor will any son of man live in it."

34The word of Yahweh that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35Yahweh of Armies says:

"Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might. 36On Elam I will bring the four winds from the four quarters of the sky, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come. 37I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before those who seek their life; and I will bring evil on them, even my fierce anger, says Yahweh; and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them; 38and I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there king and princes, says Yahweh. 39But in the latter days I will bring back the captivity of Elam, says Yahweh.

Jeremiah Chapter 50

1The word that Yahweh spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet. 2Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and don't conceal: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is disappointed, Merodach is dismayed; her images are disappointed, her idols are dismayed. 3For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell there: they are fled, they are gone, both man and animal. 4In those days, and in that time, says Yahweh, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek Yahweh their God. 5They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, [saying], Come, and join yourselves to Yahweh in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten. 6My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray; they have turned them away on the mountains; they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place. 7All who found them have devoured them; and their adversaries said, We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahweh, the habitation of righteousness, even Yahweh, the hope of their fathers. 8Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the male goats before the flocks. 9For, behold, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a group of great nations from the north country; and they shall set themselves in array against her; from there she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of an expert mighty man; none shall return in vain. 10Chaldea shall be a prey: all who prey on her shall be satisfied," says Yahweh. 11Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out [the grain], and neigh as strong horses; 12your mother shall be utterly disappointed; she who bore you shall be confounded: behold, she shall be the least of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. 13Because of the wrath of Yahweh she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be wholly desolate: everyone who goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues. 14Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against Yahweh. 15Shout against her all around: she has submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Yahweh: take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her. 16Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn everyone to his people, and they shall flee everyone to his own land.

Psalm 118

29 verses

Psalm 118

1Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever. 2Let Israel now say that his loving kindness endures forever. 3Let the house of Aaron now say that his loving kindness endures forever. 4Now let those who fear Yahweh say that his loving kindness endures forever. 5Out of my distress, I called on Yah. Yah answered me with freedom. 6Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? 7Yahweh is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I will look in triumph at those who hate me. 8It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man. 9It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes. 10All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of Yahweh, I cut them off. 11They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In the name of Yahweh I indeed cut them off. 12They surrounded me like bees. They are quenched like the burning thorns. In the name of Yahweh I cut them off. 13You pushed me back hard, to make me fall, but Yahweh helped me. 14Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation. 15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous. "The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly. 16The right hand of Yahweh is exalted! The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly!" 17I will not die, but live, and declare Yah's works. 18Yah has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death. 19Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter into them. I will give thanks to Yah. 20This is the gate of Yahweh; the righteous will enter into it. 21I will give thanks to you, for you have answered me, and have become my salvation. 22The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner. 23This is Yahweh's doing. It is marvelous in our eyes. 24This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it! 25Save us now, we beg you, Yahweh! Yahweh, we beg you, send prosperity now. 26Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh! We have blessed you out of the house of Yahweh. 27Yahweh is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar. 28You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you. 29Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

Section 4

2 Corinthians 12:16-13:14

20 verses

2 Corinthians Chapter 12

16Even so, I myself didn't burden you. "But, being crafty, I caught you with deception." 17Did I take advantage of you by any of those whom I sent to you? 18I exhorted Titus, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take any advantage of you? Didn't we walk in the same spirit? Didn't we walk in the same steps?

19Again, do you think that we are excusing ourselves to you? In the sight of God we speak in AnointedOne. But all things, dear-ones, are for your edifying. 20For I am afraid that by any means, when I come, I might find you not the way I want to, and that I might be found by you as you don't desire, that by any means there would be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, whisperings, proud thoughts, or riots, 21that again when I come my God would humble me before you, and I would mourn for many of those who have sinned before now, and not repented of the uncleanness, sexual immorality, and lustfulness which they committed.

2 Corinthians Chapter 13

1This is the third time I am coming to you. "At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." 2I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now, and to all the rest, that, if I return, I will not spare; 3seeing that you seek a proof of AnointedOne who speaks in me; who toward you is not weak, but is powerful in you. 4For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.

5Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or don't you know about your own selves, that Jesus AnointedOne is in you? Unless indeed you are disqualified! 6But I hope that you will know that we aren't disqualified.

7Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do what is honorable, though we are as reprobate. 8For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. 9For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray for this: your becoming perfect. 10For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for tearing down.

11Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of selfless-love and peace will be with you. 12Greet one another with a holy kiss.

13All the saints greet you.

14The grace of the Lord Jesus AnointedOne, the selfless-love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. [*Absolutely].
