Leviticus Chapter 7

²⁸Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁹"Tell the children of Israel, saying, 'He who offers the sacrifice of his peace offerings to Yahweh shall bring his offering to Yahweh from the sacrifice of his peace offerings. ³⁰With his own hands he shall bring Yahweh's offerings made by fire. He shall bring the fat with the breast, that the breast may be waved for a wave offering in Yahweh's presence. ³¹The priest is to burn the fat on the altar, but the breast shall be Aaron's and his sons'. ³²Give the right thigh to the priest for a heave offering from the sacrifices of your peace offerings. ³³He among the sons of Aaron who offers the blood of the peace offerings, and the fat, shall have the right thigh for a portion. ³⁴For the waved breast and the heaved thigh I have taken from the children of Israel from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons as their portion forever from the children of Israel.'"

³⁵This is the consecrated portion of Aaron, and the consecrated portion of his sons, from Yahweh's offerings made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister to Yahweh in the priest's office; ³⁶which Yahweh commanded to be given them of the children of Israel, in the day that he anointed them. It is their portion forever throughout their generations. ³⁷This is the law of the burnt offering, the meal offering, the sin offering, the trespass offering, the consecration, and the sacrifice of peace offerings ³⁸which Yahweh commanded Moses in Mount Sinai in the day that he commanded the children of Israel to offer their offerings to Yahweh, in the wilderness of Sinai.

Leviticus Chapter 8

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ²"Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and the bull of the sin offering, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread; ³and assemble all the congregation at the door of the Tent of Meeting."

⁴Moses did as Yahweh commanded him; and the congregation was assembled at the door of the Tent of Meeting. ⁵Moses said to the congregation, "This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded to be done."

Isaiah Chapter 7

²¹In that day a man will keep alive a young cow, and two sheep. ²²and because of the abundance of milk which they'll give he will eat butter, for everyone will eat butter and honey that is left within the land.

²³In that day every place where there are a thousand vines worth a thousand [shekels of] silver will become [overgrown with] briers and thorns. ²⁴One will go there with bow and arrows, because all the land will be briers and thorns. ²⁵As for the hills that had been cultivated with the hoe, you won't go there for fear of briers and thorns. They will be for the grazing of oxen, and for sheep to trample on."

Isaiah Chapter 8

¹Yahweh said to me, "Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man's pen, 'For Maher Shalal Hash Baz'; ²and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah."

³I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then Yahweh said to me, "Call his name 'Maher Shalal Hash Baz.' ⁴For before the child knows how to say, 'My father' and 'My mother,' the riches of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria."

⁵Yahweh spoke to me yet again, saying, ⁶"Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son; ⁷now therefore, look, LordOfMine brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks. ⁸It will pass through Judah; it will overflow and pass through. It will reach to the neck. The stretching out of its wings will fill the breadth of your land, Immanuel.

⁹Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered! ¹⁰Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us."

¹¹For Yahweh said this to me with a strong hand, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying, ¹²"Don't say, 'A conspiracy!' concerning all that this people call a conspiracy. Don't fear what they fear or dread it. ¹³Yahweh of Armies - him you must consecrate. He is your fear. He is your dread. ¹⁴He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare. ¹⁵Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured."

¹⁶Wrap up the testimony. Seal the law among my disciples. ¹⁷I will wait for Yahweh, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him. ¹⁸Look, I and the children whom Yahweh has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from Yahweh of Armies, who dwells in Mount Zion.

¹⁹When they tell you, "Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter," shouldn't a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living? ²⁰Turn to the law and to the testimony! If they don't speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them. ²¹They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry; and when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse their king and their God. They will turn their faces upward, ²²then look to the earth and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.

Isaiah Chapter 9

¹But there'll be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali into contempt; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

Job Chapter 28

²³"God understands its way, and he knows its place. ²⁴For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky. ²⁵He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure. ²⁶When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder; ²⁷then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out. ²⁸To man he said, 'Behold, the fear of LordOfMine, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.'"

Job Chapter 29

¹Job again took up his parable, and said,

²"Oh that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me; ³when his lamp shone on my head, and by his light I walked through darkness, ⁴as I was in the ripeness of my days, when the friendship of God was in my tent, ⁵when the Almighty was yet with me, and my children were around me, ⁶when my steps were washed with butter, and the rock poured out streams of oil for me, ⁷when I went out to the city gate, when I prepared my seat in the street. ⁸The young men saw me and hid themselves. The aged rose up and stood. ⁹The princes refrained from talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. ¹⁰The voice of the nobles was hushed, and their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth. ¹¹For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it commended me: ¹²Because I delivered the poor who cried, and the fatherless also, who had no one to help him, ¹³the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. ¹⁴I put on righteousness, and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem. ¹⁵I was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame. ¹⁶I was a father to the needy. The cause of him who I didn't know, I searched out. ¹⁷I broke the jaws of the unrighteous, and plucked the prey out of his teeth. ¹⁸Then I said, 'I shall die in my own house, I shall number my days as the sand. ¹⁹My root is spread out to the waters. The dew lies all night on my branch. ²⁰My glory is fresh in me. My bow is renewed in my hand.'

²¹"Men listened to me, waited, and kept silence for my counsel. ²²After my words they didn't speak again. My speech fell on them. ²³They waited for me as for the rain. Their mouths drank as with the spring rain. ²⁴I smiled on them when they had no confidence. They didn't reject the light of my face. ²⁵I chose out their way, and sat as chief. I lived as a king in the army, as one who comforts the mourners.

Acts Chapter 5

¹²By the hands of the ambassadors many signs and wonders were done among the people. They were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. ¹³None of the rest dared to join them, however the people honored them. ¹⁴More believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women. ¹⁵They even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on cots and mattresses, so that as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might overshadow some of them. ¹⁶A crowd also gathered from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits: and they were all healed.

¹⁷But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy ¹⁸and laid hands on the ambassadors, then put them in public custody. ¹⁹But an angel of ForeverOne opened the prison doors by night, and brought them out and said, ²⁰"Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life."

²¹When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak and taught. But the high priest came, and those who were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. ²²But the officers who came didn't find them in the prison. They returned and reported, ²³"We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside!"

²⁴Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this. ²⁵One came and told them, "Behold, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people." ²⁶Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.

²⁷When they had brought them, they had them stand in front of the council. The high priest questioned them, ²⁸saying, "Didn't we strictly command you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood on us."

²⁹But Peter and the ambassadors answered, "We must obey God rather than men. ³⁰The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree. ³¹God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. ³²We are his witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."
