Section 1

Leviticus 7:11-27

17 verses

Leviticus Chapter 7

11"'This is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which one shall offer to Yahweh: 12If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mixed with oil. 13He shall offer his offering with the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving with cakes of leavened bread. 14Of it he shall offer one from each offering for a heave offering to Yahweh. It shall be the priest's who sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings. 15The flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten on the day of his offering. He shall not leave any of it until the morning.

16"'But if the sacrifice of his offering is a vow, or a free will offering, it shall be eaten on the day that he offers his sacrifice. On the next day what remains of it shall be eaten, 17but what remains of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burned with fire. 18If any of the meat of the sacrifice of his peace offerings is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted, and it shall not be credited to him who offers it. It will be an abomination, and the soul who eats any of it will bear his iniquity.

19"'The flesh that touches any unclean thing shall not be eaten. It shall be burned with fire. As for the flesh, everyone who is clean may eat it; 20but the soul who eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings that belongs to Yahweh, having his uncleanness on him, that soul shall be cut off from his people. 21When anyone touches any unclean thing, the uncleanness of man, or an unclean animal, or any unclean abomination, and eats some of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings which belong to Yahweh, that soul shall be cut off from his people.'"

22Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23"Tell the children of Israel, saying, 'Eat no fat, of bull, or sheep, or goat. 24The fat of what dies of itself, and the fat of what is torn by animals, may be used for any other service, but you must in no way eat of it. 25For whoever eats the fat of the animal which men offer as an offering made by fire to Yahweh, even the soul who eats it shall be cut off from his people. 26Don't eat any blood, whether it is of bird or of animal, in any of your dwellings. 27Whoever it is who eats any blood, that soul shall be cut off from his people.'"

Section 2

Isaiah 6:5-7:20

29 verses

Isaiah Chapter 6

5Then I said, "Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips, for my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh of Armies!"

6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar. 7He touched my mouth with it, and said, "See, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is removed, and your sin forgiven."

8I heard LordOfMine's voice, saying, "Who will I send, and who will go for us?"

Then I said, "Here I am. Send me!"

9He said, "Go, and tell this people,
'You keep hearing,
but don't understand.
You keep seeing,
but never perceive.'
10Make the heart of this people fat.
Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes;
otherwise they'll see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their heart,
and turn again, and be healed."

11Then I said, "LordOfMine, how long?"

He answered,
"Until cities are waste without inhabitant,
houses without man,
the land becomes utterly waste,
12and Yahweh has removed men far away,
and there are many forsaken places in the land.
13Though a tenth remains in it,
it will in turn be consumed again,
like a terebinth or an oak whose stump remains when it's cut down,
so the holy offspring is its stump."

Isaiah Chapter 7

1In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. 2David's house was told, "Syria is allied with Ephraim." His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.

3Then Yahweh said to Isaiah, "Go out now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway of the washer's field. 4Tell him, 'Be careful, and keep calm. Don't be afraid, nor let your heart faint because of these two tails of smoking torches- the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. 5Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have plotted evil against you, saying, 6"Let's go up against Judah, and tear it apart, and let's divide it among ourselves, and set up a king within it, the son of Tabeel." 7This is what LordOfMine Yahweh says: "It will not stand, nor will it be." 8For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin. Within sixty-five years Ephraim will be broken in pieces, so that it will not be a people. 9The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you will not believe, you will not be established.'"

10Yahweh spoke again to Ahaz, saying, 11"Ask a sign of Yahweh your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above."

12But Ahaz said, "I won't ask. I won't tempt Yahweh."

13He said, "Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will also try the patience of my God? 14Therefore LordOfMine himself will give you a sign. See, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and will call his name Immanuel. 15He'll eat butter and honey when he knows to refuse the evil and choose the good. 16For before the child knows to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land whose two kings you abhor will be forsaken. 17Yahweh will bring on you, on your people, and on your father's house days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah, the king of Assyria.

18In that day Yahweh will whistle for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. 19They'll come, and will all rest in the desolate valleys, in the clefts of the rocks, on all thorn hedges, and on all pastures.

20In that day LordOfMine will shave with a razor hired from beyond the River- by means of the king of Assyria- the head and the hair of the feet; and it will also sweep away the beard.

Section 3

Job 27:13-28:19

30 verses

Job Chapter 27

13"This is the portion of a wicked man with God, the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty. 14If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword. His offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. 15Those who remain of him shall be buried in death. His widows shall make no lamentation. 16Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay; 17he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. 18He builds his house as the moth, as a booth which the watchman makes. 19He lies down rich, but he shall not do so again. He opens his eyes, and he is not. 20Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night. 21The east wind carries him away, and he departs. It sweeps him out of his place. 22For it hurls at him, and does not spare, as he flees away from his hand. 23Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

Job Chapter 28

1"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine. 2Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore. 3Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of death-shadow. 4He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth. 5As for the earth, out of it comes bread; Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire. 6Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold. 7That path no bird of prey knows, neither has the falcon's eye seen it. 8The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there. 9He reaches out his hand on the flinty rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots. 10He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing. 11He binds the streams that they don't trickle; the hidden thing he brings to light.

12"But where shall wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding? 13Man doesn't know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living. 14The deep says, 'It isn't in me.' The sea says, 'It isn't with me.' 15It can't be obtained for gold, nor will silver be weighed for its price. 16It can't be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. 17Gold and glass can't equal it, nor will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold. 18No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies. 19The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, nor will it be valued with pure gold.

Section 4

Acts 4:32-5:11

17 verses

Acts Chapter 4

32The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. 33With great power, the ambassadors gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all. 34For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, 35and laid them at the ambassadors' feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.

36So Joses, who the ambassadors called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement), a Levite, whose family was from Cyprus, 37having a field, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the ambassadors' feet.

Acts Chapter 5

1But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira, his wife, sold a possession, 2and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, then brought a certain part and laid it at the ambassadors' feet. 3But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4While you kept it, didn't it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn't it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven't lied to men, but to God."

5Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things. 6The young men arose and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him. 7About three hours later, his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in. 8Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much." She said, "Yes, for so much."

9But Peter asked her, "How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out."

10She fell down immediately at his feet and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband. 11Great fear came on the whole assembly, and on all who heard these things.
