Section 1

Numbers 18:25-19:10

18 verses

Numbers Chapter 18

25Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 26"In addition you are to speak to the Levites, and tell them, 'When you take of the children of Israel the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then offer up a wave offering of it for Yahweh, a tithe of the tithe. 27Your wave offering shall be credited to you, as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress. 28You must also offer a wave offering like this to Yahweh of all your tithes, which you receive of the children of Israel; and give Yahweh's wave offering to Aaron the priest from it. 29From all your gifts, offer every wave offering to Yahweh, of all its best parts, the holy part of it.'

30"Therefore tell them, 'When you heave its best from it, then it shall be credited to the Levites as the crop of the threshing floor, and as the produce of the winepress. 31You and your households may eat it anywhere, for it is your reward in return for your service in the Tent of Meeting. 32Bear no sin by reason of it, when you have heaved from it its best. Don't profane the holy things of the children of Israel, so you don't die.'"

Numbers Chapter 19

1Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2"This is the statute of the law which Yahweh has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, [and] which was never yoked. 3Give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall take her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face. 4Eleazar the priest is to take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times. 5One shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, he shall burn. 6The priest is to take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and throw it into the middle of the burning of the heifer. 7Then the priest is to wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall enter the camp, and the priest is to be unclean until the evening. 8He who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.

9"A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for use in water for cleansing impurity. It is a sin offering. 10He who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. It shall be to the children of Israel, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever.

Jeremiah 46

28 verses

Jeremiah Chapter 46

1The word of Yahweh which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.

2Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah. 3Prepare the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle! 4Harness the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, put on the coats of mail. 5Why have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and have fled apace, and don't look back: terror is on every side, says Yahweh. 6Don't let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; in the north by the river Euphrates have they stumbled and fallen. 7Who is this who rises up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves like the rivers? 8Egypt rises up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers. He says, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and its inhabitants. 9Go up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men go forth: Cush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle and bend the bow. 10For that day is [a day] of LordOfMine, Yahweh of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood; for LordOfMine, Yahweh of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates. 11Go up into Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt: you use many medicines emptily; there is no healing for you. 12The nations have heard of your shame, and the earth is full of your cry; for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they are fallen both of them together.

13The word that Yahweh spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt. 14"Declare in Egypt,
publish in Migdol,
and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes;
say, 'Stand up, and prepare,
for the sword has devoured around you.'
15Why are your strong ones swept away? they didn't stand, because Yahweh pushed them. 16He made many to stumble, yes, they fell one on another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from the oppressing sword. 17They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has let the appointed time pass by. 18As I live, says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he come. 19You daughter who dwells in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity; for Memphis shall become a desolation, and shall be burned up, without inhabitant. 20"Egypt is a very beautiful heifer;
[but] destruction out of the north has come.
It has come.
21Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they didn't stand: for the day of their calamity has come on them, the time of their visitation. 22The sound of it shall go like the serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters. 23They shall cut down her forest, says Yahweh, though it can't be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable. 24The daughter of Egypt shall be disappointed; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.

25Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, "Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him: 26and I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, says Yahweh. 27But don't you be afraid, Jacob my servant, neither be dismayed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. 28Don't you be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says Yahweh; for I am with you: for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you; but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.

Section 3

Psalm 110-111

18 verses

Psalm 110

A Psalm by David.

1Yahweh says to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet." 2Yahweh will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies. 3Your people offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy array. Out of the womb of the morning, you have the dew of your youth. 4Yahweh has sworn, and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek." 5LordOfMine is at your right hand. He will crush kings in the day of his wrath. 6He will judge among the nations. He will heap up dead bodies. He will crush the ruler of the whole earth. 7He will drink of the brook in the way; therefore he will lift up his head.

Psalm 111

1Praise Yah! I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart, in the council of the upright, and in the congregation. 2Yahweh's works are great, pondered by all those who delight in them. 3His work is honor and majesty. His righteousness endures forever. 4He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered. Yahweh is gracious and merciful. 5He has given food to those who fear him. He always remembers his covenant. 6He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. 7The works of his hands are truth and justice. All his precepts are sure. 8They are established forever and ever. They are done in truth and uprightness. 9He has sent redemption to his people. He has ordained his covenant forever. His name is holy and awesome! 10The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!

Section 4

2 Corinthians 8:16-9:15

24 verses

2 Corinthians Chapter 8

16But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus. 17For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord. 18We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known throughout all the assemblies. 19Not only so, but he was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness. 20We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us. 21Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. 22We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you. 23As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the ambassadors of the assemblies, the glory of AnointedOne. 24So show the proof of your selfless-love to them in front of the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.

2 Corinthians Chapter 9

1It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints, 2for I know your readiness, of which I boast on your behalf to the Macedonians, that Achaia has been prepared for the past year. Your zeal has stirred up very many of them. 3But I have sent the brothers that our boasting on your behalf may not be in vain in this respect, that, just as I said, you may be prepared, 4so that if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we (to say nothing of you) would be disappointed in this confident boasting. 5So I thought it necessary to entreat the brothers that they go to you and arrange ahead of time the praise that you promised before, so that it might be ready as a matter of praise, and not of greediness.

6Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows praise will also reap praise. 7Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God selflessly-loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work. 9As it is written, "He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever."

10Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us. 12For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God, 13seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of AnointedOne and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all, 14while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you. 15Now thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift!
