Leviticus 5:14-6:7

13 verses

Leviticus Chapter 5

14Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 15"If anyone commits a trespass, and sins unwittingly regarding Yahweh's holy things, then he shall bring his trespass offering to Yahweh: a ram without defect from the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering. 16He shall make restitution for what he has done wrong regarding the holy thing, and shall add a fifth to it, and give it to the priest; and the priest is to make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and he will be forgiven.

17"If anyone sins, doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, though he didn't know it, he is still guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. 18He shall bring a ram without defect from the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest; and the priest is to make atonement for him concerning what he sinned in but didn't know it, and he will be forgiven. 19It is a trespass offering. He is certainly guilty in Yahweh's presence."

Leviticus Chapter 6

1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2"If anyone sins, and commits a trespass against Yahweh, and deals falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or bargain, or robbery, or has oppressed his neighbor, 3or has found what was lost, and lied about it, and swearing to a lie- in any of these things that a man sins in his actions- 4then it shall be, if he has sinned, and is guilty, he shall restore what he took by robbery, or the thing which he has obtained by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found, 5or any thing about which he has sworn falsely: he shall restore it In full, and shall add a fifth more to it. He shall return it to him to whom it belongs in the day of his being found guilty. 6He shall bring his trespass offering to Yahweh: a ram without defect from the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest. 7The priest is to make atonement for him in Yahweh's presence, and he will be forgiven concerning whatever he does to become guilty."

Section 2

Isaiah 2:1-3:11

33 verses

Isaiah Chapter 2

1This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2In the latter days the mountain of Yahweh's house will be established on the top of the mountains,
and will be raised above the hills;
and all nations will flow to it.
3Many peoples will go and say,
"Come, let's go up to the mountain of Yahweh,
to the house of the God of Jacob;
and he will teach us of his ways,
and we will walk in his paths."
For the law will go out of Zion,
and ForeverOne's word from Jerusalem.
4He will judge between the nations,
and will decide concerning many peoples.
They'll beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation won't lift up sword against nation,
nor will they learn war any more.
5House of Jacob, come, and let's walk in the light of Yahweh.
6For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob,
because they are filled from the east,
with those who practice divination like the Philistines,
and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners.
7Their land is full of silver and gold,
neither is there any end of their treasures.
Their land also is full of horses,
neither is there any end of their chariots.
8Their land also is full of idols.
They worship the work of their own hands,
that which their own fingers have made.
9Man is brought low,
and mankind is humbled;
therefore don't forgive them.
10Enter into the rock,
and hide in the dust,
from before the terror of Yahweh,
and from the glory of his majesty.
11The lofty looks of man will be brought low,
the haughtiness of men will be bowed down,
and Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day.
12For there will be a day of Yahweh of Armies for all that is proud and haughty,
and for all that is lifted up,
and it shall be brought low-
13for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up,
for all the oaks of Bashan,
14for all the high mountains,
for all the hills that are lifted up,
15for every lofty tower,
for every fortified wall,
16for all the ships of Tarshish,
and for all pleasant imagery.
17The loftiness of man will be bowed down,
and the haughtiness of men will be brought low;
and Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day.
18The idols will completely pass away.
19People will go into the caves of the rocks,
and into the burrows of the earth,
from Yahweh's terror,
and from the glory of his majesty,
when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
20In that day, men will throw away their idols of silver
and their idols of gold,
which have been made for themselves to worship,
to the moles and to the bats,
21to go into the caverns of the rocks,
and into the clefts of the ragged rocks,
from Yahweh's terror,
and from the glory of his majesty,
when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
22Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils;
for of what account is he?

Isaiah Chapter 3

1For, behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support,
the whole supply of bread,
and the whole supply of water;
2the mighty man,
the man of war,
the judge,
the prophet,
the diviner,
the elder,
3the captain of fifty,
the honorable man,
the counselor,
the skilled craftsman,
and the clever enchanter.
4I will give [them] boys as their princes,
and childishness will rule over them.
5The people will be oppressed,
everyone by another,
and everyone by his neighbor.
The child will behave himself proudly against the old man,
and the wicked against the honorable.
6Indeed a man will take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying,
"You have clothing, you be our ruler,
and let this ruin be under your hand."
7On that day he will cry out, saying, "I will not be a healer;
for there is neither bread nor clothing in my house.
You will not make me ruler of the people."
8For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen;
because their tongue and their actions are against Yahweh,
to provoke the eyes of his glory.
9The look of their faces testify against them.
They parade their sin like Sodom.
They don't hide it.
Woe to their soul!
For they have brought disaster upon themselves.
10Tell the righteous "Good!",
for they will eat the fruit of their actions.
11Woe to the wicked!
Disaster is upon them,
for the deeds of their hands will be paid back to them.

Section 3

Job 23:1-24:8

25 verses

Job Chapter 23

1Then Job answered,

2"Even today my complaint is rebellious. His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. 3Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat! 4I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. 5I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me. 6Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me. 7There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.

8"If I go east, he is not there; if west, I can't find him; 9He works to the north, but I can't see him. He turns south, but I can't catch a glimpse of him. 10But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I shall become like gold. 11My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned aside. 12I haven't gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. 13But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? What his soul desires, even that he does. 14For he performs what is appointed for me. Many such things are with him. 15Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him. 16For God has made my heart faint. The Almighty has terrified me. 17Because I was not cut off before the darkness, nor did he cover the thick darkness from my face.

Job Chapter 24

1"Why aren't times laid up by the Almighty? Why don't those who know him see his days? 2There are people who remove the landmarks. They violently take away flocks, and feed them. 3They drive away the donkey of the fatherless, and they take the widow's ox for a pledge. 4They turn the needy out of the way. The poor of the earth all hide themselves. 5Behold, as wild donkeys in the desert, they go out to their work, seeking diligently for food. The wilderness yields them bread for their children. 6They cut their food in the field.
They glean the vineyard of the wicked.
7They lie all night naked without clothing, and have no covering in the cold. 8They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for lack of a shelter.

Section 4

Acts 2:37-3:11

22 verses

Acts Chapter 2

37Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the ambassadors, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

38Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus AnointedOne for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as ForeverOne our God will call to himself." 40With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation!"

41Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls. 42They continued steadfastly in the ambassadors' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer. 43Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the ambassadors. 44All who believed were together, and had all things in common. 45They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need. 46Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, 47praising God, and having favor with all the people. ForeverOne added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.

Acts Chapter 3

1Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2A certain man who was lame from his mother's womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple. 3Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy. 4Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, "Look at us." 5He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them. 6But Peter said, "I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus AnointedOne of Nazareth, get up and walk!" 7He took him by the right hand and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength. 8Leaping up, he stood and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God. 9All the people saw him walking and praising God. 10They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. 11As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
