For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.
1May Yahweh answer you in the day of trouble.
May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high,
2send you help from the sanctuary,
grant you support from Zion,
3remember all your offerings,
and accept your burnt sacrifice.

4May he grant you your heart's desire,
and fulfill all your counsel.
5We will triumph in your salvation.
In the name of our God, we will set up our banners.
May Yahweh grant all your requests.

with the saving strength of his right hand.
7Some trust in chariots, and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of Yahweh our God.

but we rise up, and stand upright.
9Save, Yahweh!
Let the King answer us when we call!

selah.
3For you meet him with the blessings of goodness. You set a crown of fine gold on his head. 4He asked life of you, you gave it to him, even length of days forever and ever. 5His glory is great in your salvation. You lay honor and majesty on him. 6For you make him most blessed forever. You make him glad with joy in your presence. 7For the king trusts in Yahweh. Through the loving kindness of the Most High, he shall not be moved. 8Your hand will find out all of your enemies. Your right hand will find out those who hate you. 9You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger. Yahweh will swallow them up in his wrath. The fire shall devour them. 10You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from among the children of men. 11For they intended evil against you. They plotted evil against you which cannot succeed. 12For you will make them turn their back, when you aim drawn bows at their face. 13Be exalted, Yahweh, in your strength, so we will sing and praise your power.

27When he had determined to pass over into Achaia, the brothers encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him. When he had come, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace; 28for he powerfully refuted the Jews, publicly showing by the Scriptures that Jesus was AnointedOne.
1While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having passed through the upper country, came to Ephesus and found certain disciples. 2He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They said to him, "No, we haven't even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."
3He said, "Into what then were you baptized?" They said, "Into John's baptism."
4Paul said, "John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus."
5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke with other languages and prophesied. 7They were about twelve men in all.
8He entered into the synagogue and spoke boldly for a period of three months, reasoning and persuading about the things concerning God's Kingdom.
9But when some were hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus. 10This continued for two years, so that all those who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Gentiles.
