Readings for October 20:

First, Numbers Chapter 32 verses 16 to 32. Follow that by reading from Ezekiel Chapter 20 verse 30 to Chapter 21 verse 7. The third part is Proverbs Chapter 7; and lastly 1 Thessalonians Chapter 5

Numbers 32:16-32

Numbers Chapter 32

¹⁶They came near to him, and said, "We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones; ¹⁷but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place. Our little ones shall live in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land. ¹⁸We will not return to our houses until the children of Israel have all received their inheritance. ¹⁹For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan eastward."

²⁰Moses said to them, "If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before Yahweh to war, ²¹and every one of your armed men crosses the Jordan before Yahweh until he has driven out his enemies from before him, ²²and the land is subdued before Yahweh; then afterward you may return, and be clear of obligation to Yahweh and to Israel. Then this land will be your possession before Yahweh.

²³"But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against Yahweh; and be sure your sin will find you out. ²⁴Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do what has proceeded from your mouth."

²⁵The children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, "Your servants will do as my lord commands. ²⁶Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock shall be there in the cities of Gilead; ²⁷but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, before Yahweh to battle, as my lord says."

²⁸So Moses commanded concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers' [households] of the tribes of the children of Israel. ²⁹Moses said to them, "If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every man who is armed to battle before Yahweh, and the land is subdued before you, then give them the land of Gilead for a possession; ³⁰but if they will not pass over with you armed, they'll have possessions among you in the land of Canaan."

³¹The children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, "As Yahweh has said to your servants, so will we do. ³²We will pass over armed before Yahweh into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance [shall remain] with us beyond the Jordan."

Ezekiel 20:30-21:7

Ezekiel Chapter 20

³⁰Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? and do you play the prostitute after their abominations? ³¹and when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? and shall I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says LordOfMine Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you;

³²and what comes into your mind shall not be at all, in that you say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. ³³As I live, says LordOfMine Yahweh, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, I will be king over you: ³⁴and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out; ³⁵and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face. ³⁶Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says LordOfMine Yahweh. ³⁷I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; ³⁸and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and those who disobey against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

³⁹As for you, house of Israel, thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: Go, serve everyone his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols. ⁴⁰For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says LordOfMine Yahweh, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings, and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things. ⁴¹As a pleasant aroma I will accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations. ⁴²You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers. ⁴³There you shall remember your ways, and all your actions, in which you have polluted yourselves; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed. ⁴⁴You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have dealt with you for my name's sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt actions, you house of Israel, says LordOfMine Yahweh.

⁴⁵The word of Yahweh came to me, saying, ⁴⁶Son of man, set your face toward the south, and drop [your word] toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South; ⁴⁷and tell the forest of the South, Hear the word of Yahweh: Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh, Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree in you, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned by it. ⁴⁸All flesh shall see that I, Yahweh, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.

⁴⁹Then I said, Ah LordOfMine Yahweh! they say of me, Isn't he a speaker of parables?

Ezekiel Chapter 21

¹The word of Yahweh came to me, saying, ²Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and drop [your word] toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel; ³and tell the land of Israel, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked. ⁴Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north: ⁵and all flesh shall know that I, Yahweh, have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.

⁶Sigh therefore, you son of man; with the breaking of your thighs and with bitterness you will sigh before their eyes. ⁷When they ask you, Why do you sigh? you shall say, Because of the news, for it comes; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says LordOfMine Yahweh.

Proverbs 7

Proverbs Chapter 7

¹My son, keep my words. Store my commandments within you. ²Keep my commandments and live! Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye. ³Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart. ⁴Tell wisdom, "You are my sister." Call understanding your relative, ⁵that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words. ⁶For at the window of my house, I looked out through my lattice. ⁷I saw among the simple ones. I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding, ⁸passing through the street near her corner, he went the way to her house, ⁹in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the middle of the night and in the darkness. ¹⁰Behold, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute, and with crafty intent. ¹¹She is loud and defiant. Her feet don't stay in her house. ¹²Now she is in the streets, now in the squares, and lurking at every corner. ¹³So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him: ¹⁴"Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. Today I have paid my vows. ¹⁵Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you. ¹⁶I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt. ¹⁷I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. ¹⁸Come, let's take our fill of loving until the morning. Let's solace ourselves with loving. ¹⁹For my husband isn't at home. He has gone on a long journey. ²⁰He has taken a bag of money with him. He will come home at the full moon." ²¹With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him. ²²He followed her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, as a fool stepping into a noose. ²³Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn't know that it will cost his life. ²⁴Now therefore, sons, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth. ²⁵Don't let your heart turn to her ways. Don't go astray in her paths, ²⁶for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slaughtered are a mighty army. ²⁷Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the rooms of death.

1 Thessalonians 5

1 Thessalonians Chapter 5

¹But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you. ²For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night. ³For when they are saying, "Peace and safety," then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape. ⁴But you, brothers, aren't in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief. ⁵You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We don't belong to the night, nor to darkness, ⁶so then let's not sleep, as the rest do, but let's watch and be sober. ⁷For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night. ⁸But since we belong to the day, let's be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and selfless-love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. ⁹For God didn't appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus AnointedOne, ¹⁰who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. ¹¹So exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

¹²But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you, ¹³and to respect and honor them in selfless-love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

¹⁴We exhort you, brothers: Admonish the disorderly; encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient toward all. ¹⁵See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but pursue all that is good for one another and for all.

¹⁶Always rejoice. ¹⁷Pray without ceasing. ¹⁸In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in AnointedOne Jesus toward you. ¹⁹Don't quench the Spirit. ²⁰Don't despise prophecies; ²¹test all things, and hold firmly what is good. ²²Abstain from every form of evil.

²³May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus AnointedOne.

²⁴He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.

²⁵Brothers, pray for us.

²⁶Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss. ²⁷I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.

²⁸The grace of our Lord Jesus AnointedOne be with you. [*Absolutely].
