15Yahweh your God will raise up for you a prophet from among you, from your brothers, [just] like me. Listen to him. 16This is exactly as you desired from Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, "Don't let me hear Yahweh my God's voice again, or let me see this great fire any more, so that I don't die." 17Yahweh said to me, "They have well said what they have spoken. 18I will raise up a prophet for them from among their brothers, [just] like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will speak to them all that I command him. 19Whoever will not listen to my words which he speaks in my name, I [myself] will call [them to account]. 20But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet must die."
21You may say in your heart, "How can we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?" 22When a prophet speaks in Yahweh's name, if the thing doesn't follow, or happen, it is something which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Don't be afraid of him.
1When Yahweh your God cuts off the nations whose land Yahweh your God is giving you, and you succeed them and live in their cities and in their houses, 2you are to set apart three cities for yourselves in the middle of your land, which Yahweh your God is giving you to possess. 3Prepare the road and divide the borders of your land, which Yahweh your God causes you to inherit, into three parts so every manslayer may have somewhere to flee. 4This is the case of the manslayer who can flee there to live: Whoever kills his neighbor unintentionally, and didn't hate him previously- 5like when a man goes into the forest with his neighbor to chop wood and his hand swings the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle and hits his neighbor so that he dies- he can flee to one of these cities and live. 6Otherwise, the avenger of blood might pursue the manslayer, while hot anger is in his heart and overtake him, because the road is long, and strike him mortally, even though he was not worthy of death because he didn't previously hate him.

6Thus says Yahweh: "For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals; 7They trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and deny justice to the oppressed; and a man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name; 8and they lay themselves down beside every altar on clothes taken in pledge; and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined. 9Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. 10Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite. 11I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Isn't this true, you children of Israel?" says Yahweh. 12"But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets, saying, 'Don't prophesy!' 13Behold, I will crush you in your place, as a cart crushes that is full of grain. 14Flight will perish from the swift; and the strong won't strengthen his force; neither shall the mighty deliver himself; 15He who handles the bow won't stand. He who is swift of foot won't escape. He who rides the horse won't deliver himself. 16and he who is courageous among the mighty will flee away naked on that day," says Yahweh.
1Hear this word that Yahweh has spoken against you, children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying: 2"You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all of your sins." 3Do two walk together, unless they have agreed? 4Will a lion roar in the thicket, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing? 5Can a bird fall in a trap on the earth, where no snare is set for him? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when there is nothing to catch? 6Does the trumpet alarm sound in a city, without the people being afraid? Does evil happen to a city, and Yahweh hasn't done it? 7Surely LordOfMine Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. 8The lion has roared. Who will not fear? LordOfMine Yahweh has spoken. Who can but prophesy? 9Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, "Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria, and see what unrest is in her, and what oppression is among them." 10"Indeed they don't know to do right," says Yahweh, "Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces."
11Therefore thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: "An adversary will overrun the land; and he will pull down your strongholds, and your fortresses will be plundered."
12Thus says Yahweh: "As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be rescued who sit in Samaria on the corner of a couch, and on the silken cushions of a bed."
13"Listen, and testify against the house of Jacob," says LordOfMine Yahweh, the God of Armies. 14"For in the day that I visit the transgressions of Israel on him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel; and the horns of the altar will be cut off, and fall to the ground. 15I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory will perish, and the great houses will have an end," says Yahweh.

1How the city sits solitary,
that was full of people!
She has become as a widow,
who was great among the nations!
She who was a princess among the provinces
has become a slave! 2She weeps bitterly in the night.
Her tears are on her cheeks.
Among all her lovers
she has no one to comfort her.
All her friends have dealt treacherously with her.
They have become her enemies. 3Judah has gone into captivity because of affliction
and because of great servitude.
She dwells among the nations.
She finds no rest.
All her pursuers overtook her in her distress. 4The roads to Zion mourn,
because no one comes to the solemn assembly.
All her gates are desolate.
Her priests sigh.
Her virgins are afflicted,
and she herself is in bitterness. 5Her adversaries have become the head.
Her enemies prosper;
for Yahweh has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions.
Her young children have gone into captivity before the adversary. 6All majesty has departed from the daughter of Zion.
Her princes have become like deer that find no pasture.
They have gone without strength before the pursuer. 7Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and of her miseries
all her pleasant things that were from the days of old;
when her people fell into the hand of the adversary,
and no one helped her.
The adversaries saw her.
They mocked at her desolations. 8Jerusalem has grievously sinned.
Therefore she has become unclean.
All who honored her despise her,
because they have seen her nakedness.
Yes, she sighs and turns backward. 9Her filthiness was in her skirts.
She didn't remember her latter end.
Therefore she has come down astoundingly.
She has no comforter.
"See, Yahweh, my affliction;
for the enemy has magnified himself." 10The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things;
for she has seen that the nations have entered into her sanctuary,
concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly. 11All her people sigh.
They seek bread.
They have given their pleasant things for food to refresh their soul.
"Look, Yahweh, and see,
for I have become despised." 12"Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?
Look, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow,
which is brought on me,
with which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger. 13"From on high has he sent fire into my bones,
and it prevails against them.
He has spread a net for my feet.
He has turned me back.
He has made me desolate and I faint all day long. 14"The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand.
They are knit together.
They have come up on my neck.
He made my strength fail.
LordOfMine has delivered me into their hands,
against whom I am not able to stand.

12I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
13I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you know the Father.
14I have written to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
15Don't love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's selfless-love isn't in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn't the Father's, but is the world's. 17The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God's will remains forever.
18Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the against-anointed-one is coming, even now many against-anointed-ones have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour. 19They went out from us, but they didn't belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us. 20You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. 21I have not written to you because you don't know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is AnointedOne? This is the against-anointed-one, he who denies the Father and the Son. 23Whoever denies the Son doesn't have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.
24So, as for you, let what you heard from the beginning remain in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father. 25This is the promise which he promised us, the eternal life.
26These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray. 27As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don't need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.
28Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.
