32Now the plunder, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep, 33seventy-two thousand head of cattle, 34sixty-one thousand donkeys, 35and thirty-two thousand people in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him. 36The half, which was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep; 37and Yahweh's tribute of the sheep was six hundred seventy-five. 38The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which Yahweh's tribute was seventy-two. 39The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which Yahweh's tribute was sixty-one. 40The people were sixteen thousand, of whom Yahweh's tribute was thirty-two people. 41Moses gave the tribute, which was Yahweh's wave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as Yahweh commanded Moses. 42Of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided off from the men who fought 43now the congregation's half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep, 44thirty-six thousand head of cattle, 45thirty thousand five hundred donkeys, 46and sixteen thousand people, 47even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one drawn from every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites, who performed the duty of Yahweh's tabernacle, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
48The officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses. 49They said to Moses, "Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us. 50We have brought Yahweh's offering, what every man found: gold ornaments, armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Yahweh."
51Moses and Eleazar the priest took their gold, even all worked jewels. 52All the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to Yahweh, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred fifty shekels. 53The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself. 54Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a memorial for the children of Israel before Yahweh.

24But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.
25Yet you say, The way of LordOfMine is not equal. Hear now, house of Israel: Is my way not equal? Aren't your ways unequal? 26When the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies in it; in his iniquity that he has done he shall die. 27Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does what is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 28Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 29Yet says the house of Israel, The way of LordOfMine is not equal. house of Israel, are not my ways equal? Aren't your ways unequal?
30Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways, says LordOfMine Yahweh. Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 31Throw away all the transgressions in which you have rebelled; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit. For why will you die, house of Israel? 32For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies, says LordOfMine Yahweh: therefore turn yourselves, and live.
1Moreover, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, 2and say, What was your mother? A lioness: she couched among lions, in the midst of the young lions she nourished her cubs. 3She brought up one of her cubs: he became a young lion, and he learned to catch the prey; he devoured men. 4The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit; and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt. 5Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her cubs, and made him a young lion. 6He went up and down among the lions; he became a young lion, and he learned to catch the prey; he devoured men. 7He knew their palaces, and laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and its fullness, because of the noise of his roaring. 8Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces; and they spread their net over him; he was taken in their pit. 9They put him in a cage with hooks, and brought him to the king of Babylon; they brought him into strongholds, that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel. 10Your mother was like a vine, in your blood, planted by the waters: it was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters. 11It had strong rods for the scepters of those who bore rule, and their stature was exalted among the thick boughs, and they were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches. 12But it was plucked up in fury, it was thrown down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit: its strong branches were broken off and withered; the fire consumed them. 13Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land. 14Fire is gone out of the rods of its branches, it has devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong rod to be a scepter to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
1In the seventh year, in the fifth [month], the tenth [day] of the month, certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Yahweh, and sat before me.
2The word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 3Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live, says LordOfMine Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you.
4Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers; 5and tell them, Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the offspring of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am Yahweh your God; 6in that day I swore to them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands. 7I said to them, 'Each of you throw away the abominations of his eyes. Don't defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.'

13For this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that when you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also works in you who believe. 14For you, brothers, became imitators of the assemblies of God which are in Judea in AnointedOne Jesus; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews 15who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and drove us out, and don't please God, and are contrary to all men, 16forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.
17But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire, 18because we wanted to come to you - indeed, I, Paul, once and again - but Satan hindered us. 19For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Isn't it even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming? 20For you are our glory and our joy.
1So when we couldn't stand it any longer, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone, 2and sent Timothy, our brother and God's servant in the Good News of AnointedOne, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith, 3that no one would be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task. 4For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know. 5For this cause I also, when I couldn't stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.
6But when Timothy came just now to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and selfless-love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you, 7for this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith. 8For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord. 9For what thanksgiving can we render again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God, 10night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect what is lacking in your faith?
