15 verses
15But if you will not listen to Yahweh your God's voice, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you. 16You'll be cursed in the city, and you'll be cursed in the country. 17Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed. 18The fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the offspring of your livestock, and the young of your flock will be cursed. 19You'll be cursed when you come in, and you'll be cursed when you go out. 20Yahweh will send cursing, confusion, and rebuke on you in all that you put your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your actions, by which you have forsaken me. 21Yahweh will make the pestilence cling to you, until he has consumed you from the land which you are entering to possess. 22Yahweh will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with fiery heat, with the sword, with blight, and with mildew. They will pursue you until you perish. 23The sky that is over your head will be [like] bronze, and the earth that is under you will be [like] iron. 24Yahweh will make the rain of your land powder and dust. It will come down on you from the sky, until you are destroyed. 25Yahweh will cause you to be struck before your enemies. You'll go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them. You'll be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth. 26Your dead bodies will be food to all birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth; and there'll be no one to frighten them away. 27Yahweh will strike you with the boils of Egypt, with tumors, with scurvy, and with the itch, from which you can't be healed. 28Yahweh will strike you with madness, blindness, and astonishment of heart. 29You'll grope [about] at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you won't prosper in your ways. You will only ever be oppressed and robbed, and there'll be no one to save you.

12Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity! 13Behold, isn't it from Yahweh of Armies that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity? 14For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Yahweh's glory, as the waters cover the sea.
15"Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring your inflaming wine until they are drunk, so that you may gaze at their naked bodies! 16You are filled with shame, and not glory. You will also drink and be exposed! The cup of Yahweh's right hand will come around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory. 17For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and the destruction of the animals will terrify you, because of men's blood and for the violence done to the land, to every city and to those who dwell in them.
18"What value does an engraved image have, [when] its maker has engraved it? Or a cast-metal image, a teacher of lies? Yet the one who formed it trusts in his own work, making dumb idols! 19Woe to him who says to the wood, 'Awake!' or to the dumb stone, 'Arise!' Can it teach? Look, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath within it. 20But Yahweh is in his holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before him!"

2Yahweh, I have heard of your fame.
I stand in awe of your deeds, Yahweh.
Renew your work in the middle of the years.
In the middle of the years make it known.
In wrath, you remember mercy.
3God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran.

His glory covered the heavens,
and his praise filled the earth.
4His splendor is like the sunrise.
Rays shine from his hand, where his power is hidden.
5Plague went ahead of him,
and pestilence followed his feet.
6He stood, and shook the earth.
He looked, and made the nations tremble.
The ancient mountains were crumbled.
The age-old hills collapsed.
His ways are eternal.
7I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction.
The dwellings of the land of Midian trembled.
8Was Yahweh displeased with the rivers?
Was your anger against the rivers,
or your wrath against the sea,
that you rode on your horses,
on your chariots of salvation?
9You uncovered your bow.
You called for your sworn arrows.

You split the earth with rivers.
10The mountains saw you, and were afraid.
The storm of waters passed by.
The deep roared and lifted up its hands on high.
11The sun and moon stood still in the sky
at the light of your arrows as they went,
at the shining of your glittering spear.
12You marched through the land in wrath.
You threshed the nations in anger.
13You went out for the salvation of your people,
for the salvation of your anointed.
You crushed the head of the land of wickedness.
You stripped them head to foot.

14You pierced the heads of his warriors with their own spears.
They came as a whirlwind to scatter me,
gloating as if to devour the wretched in secret.
15You trampled the sea with your horses,
churning mighty waters.
16I heard, and my body trembled.
My lips quivered at the voice.
Rottenness enters into my bones, and I tremble in my place
because I must wait quietly for the day of trouble,
for the coming up of the people who invade us.
17For [even though] the fig tree doesn't flourish,
nor fruit be in the vines,
the labor of the olive fails,
the fields yield no food,
the flocks are cut off from the fold,
and there is no herd in the stalls,
18yet I will rejoice in Yahweh.
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
19Yahweh, LordOfMine, is my strength.
He makes my feet like deer's feet,
and enables me to go in high places.

12The fourth angel sounded, and one third of the sun was struck, and one third of the moon, and one third of the stars; so that one third of them would be darkened, and the day wouldn't shine for one third of it, and the night in the same way. 13I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the trumpets of the three angels, who are yet to sound!"
1The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him. 2He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit. 3Then out of the smoke came locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don't have God's seal on their foreheads. 5They were given power, not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a person. 6In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
7The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people's faces. 8They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like those of lions. 9They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war. 10They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months. 11They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is "Abaddon," but in Greek, he has the name "Apollyon".
12The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.
13The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!"
15The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind. 16The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million. I heard the number of them.
