Numbers Chapter 3

27From Kohath [came] the family of the Amramites, the family of the Izharites, the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites. 28According to the number of all the males from a month old and older, there were eight thousand six hundred keeping the requirements of the sanctuary.

29The families of the sons of Kohath are to camp on the south side of the tabernacle. 30The prince of the fathers' house of the families of the Kohathites will be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. 31Their responsibility will be the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the vessels of the sanctuary with which they minister, the screen, and all its service. 32Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is to be prince of the princes of the Levites, with the oversight of those who keep the requirements of the sanctuary.

33From Merari [came] the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites. These are the families of Merari. 34Listed as the number of all the males from a month old and older, were six thousand two hundred.

35The prince of the fathers' house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They are to camp on the north side of the tabernacle. 36The appointed responsibility of the sons of Merari will be the tabernacle's boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, all its instruments, all [items of] service, 37the pillars of the court around it, their sockets, their pins, and their cords.

38Those who camp near the tabernacle on the east, in front of the Tent of Meeting toward the sunrise, are to be Moses, with Aaron and his sons, keeping the requirements of the sanctuary for the duty of the children of Israel. Any outsider who comes near must be put to death. 39All who were counted of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron counted at Yahweh's commandment, by their families, all the males from a month old and older, were twenty-two thousand.

Jeremiah 9:12-10:13

28 verses

Jeremiah Chapter 9

12Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and [who is] he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? why is the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that none passes through?

13Yahweh says, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked in it, 14but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them; 15therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, "Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. 16I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them."

17Yahweh of Armies says, "Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the skillful women, that they may come: 18and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters. 19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, 'How are we ruined! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have thrown down our dwellings.'" 20Yet hear the word of Yahweh, you women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; and teach your daughters wailing, and everyone her neighbor lamentation. 21For death has come up into our windows, it is entered into our palaces; to cut off the children from outside, [and] the young men from the streets.

22Declare "Yahweh says, 'The dead bodies of men shall fall as dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester, and no-one shall gather [them].'"

23Yahweh says, "Don't let the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, don't let the rich man glory in his riches; 24but let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight," says Yahweh.

25"Behold, the days come," says Yahweh, "that I will punish all those who are circumcised in [their] uncircumcision: 26Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners [of their hair] cut off, who dwell in the wilderness; for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart."

Jeremiah Chapter 10

1Hear the word which Yahweh speaks to you, house of Israel! 2Yahweh says, "Don't learn the way of the nations, and don't be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them. 3For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the axe. 4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it not move. 5They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and don't speak: they must be carried, because they can't go. Don't be afraid of them; for they can't do evil, neither is it in them to do good." 6There is none like you, Yahweh; you are great, and your name is great in might. 7Who should not fear you, King of the nations? For it appertains to you; because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is none like you. 8But they are together brutish and foolish: the instruction of idols! it is but a stock. 9There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the artificer and of the hands of the goldsmith; blue and purple for their clothing; they are all the work of skillful men. 10But Yahweh is the true God; he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembles, and the nations are not able to withstand his indignation.

11You shall say this to them: The god that has not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens. 12He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens: 13when he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain, and brings out the wind from his treasuries.

Psalm 62-63

25 verses

Psalm 62

For the Chief Musician. To Jeduthan. A Psalm by David.

1My soul rests in God alone.
My salvation is from him.
2He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress.
I will never be greatly shaken.
3How long will you assault a man?
Would all of you throw him down,
like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
4They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place.
They delight in lies.
They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.

selah.

5My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
for my expectation is from him.
6He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress.
I will not be shaken.
7My salvation and my honor is with God.
The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
8Trust in him at all times, you people.
Pour out your heart before him.
God is a refuge for us.

selah.

9Surely men of low degree are just a breath,
and men of high degree are a lie.
In the balances they will go up.
They are together lighter than a breath.
10Don't trust in oppression.
Don't become vain in robbery.
If riches increase,
don't set your heart on them.
11God has spoken once;
twice I have heard this,
that power belongs to God.
12Also to you, LordOfMine, belongs loving kindness,
for you reward every man according to his work.

Psalm 63

A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah.

1God, you are my God.
I will earnestly seek you.
My soul thirsts for you.
My flesh longs for you,
in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
2So I have seen you in the sanctuary,
watching your power and your glory.
3Because your loving kindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise you.
4So I will bless you while I live.
I will lift up my hands in your name.
5My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food.
My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,
6when I remember you on my bed,
and think about you in the night watches.
7For you have been my help.
I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
8My soul stays close to you.
Your right hand holds me up.
9But those who seek my soul to destroy it
shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10They shall be given over to the power of the sword.
They shall be jackal food.
11But the king shall rejoice in God.
Everyone who swears by him will praise him,
for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.

Section 4

Romans 8:26-9:5

19 verses

Romans Chapter 8

26In the same way, the Spirit helps our weaknesses, for we don't know what we need to pray. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with inexpressible groanings. 27And the one who searches hearts knows what the Spirit's purpose is, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.

28And we know that all things work together for the good of those who selflessly-love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

31What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who didn't spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? 33Who could bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he who condemns? It is AnointedOne who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

35Who [can] separate us from the selfless-love of AnointedOne? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36Even as it is written,
"For your sake we are killed all day long.
We were counted as sheep for the slaughter."

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who selflessly-loved us. 38For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God's selfless-love which is in AnointedOne Jesus our Lord.

Romans Chapter 9

1I tell the truth in AnointedOne. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit 2that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart. 3For I could wish that I myself were accursed from AnointedOne for my brothers' sake, my relatives according to the flesh 4who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises; 5of whom are the fathers, and from [whom comes] AnointedOne (according to the flesh), who is God over all, forever praiseworthy. Absolutely.
