Deuteronomy Chapter 9

¹Listen, Israel! You are crossing over the Jordan today, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, great cities fortified up to the sky, ²a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim. [They are] known to you, and you have heard [said about them], "Who can stand before the sons of Anak?" ³Know therefore today that it is Yahweh your God who is going over before you as a devouring fire. He will destroy them and he will bring them down before you. You'll drive them out and make them perish quickly, as Yahweh has told you.

⁴Don't say in your heart, after Yahweh your God has thrust them out from before you, "For my righteousness Yahweh has brought me in to possess this land;" because Yahweh drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations. ⁵You are not going in to possess their land because of your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart. It is because of the wickedness of these nations that Yahweh your God is driving them out from before you. And that he may establish the word which Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. ⁶Know therefore that Yahweh your God doesn't give you this good land to possess for your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people. ⁷Remember, and don't forget, how you provoked Yahweh your God to wrath in the wilderness. From the day that you left the land of Egypt until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against Yahweh. ⁸Also in Horeb you provoked Yahweh to wrath, and Yahweh was angry with you [even enough] to destroy you. ⁹When I had gone up onto the mountain to receive the stone tablets, even the tablets of the covenant which Yahweh made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water. ¹⁰Yahweh delivered to me the two stone tablets written with God's finger. All the words which Yahweh told you on the mountain from the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly [are written] on them.

Ezekiel Chapter 43

²²On the second day you shall offer a male goat without defect for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they cleansed it with the bull. ²³When you have finished cleansing it, you shall offer a young bull without defect, and a ram out of the flock without defect. ²⁴You shall bring them near to Yahweh, and the priests shall throw salt on them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering to Yahweh.

²⁵Seven days you shall prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bull, and a ram out of the flock, without defect. ²⁶Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they consecrate it. ²⁷When they have accomplished the days, it shall be that on the eighth day, and forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, says LordOfMine Yahweh.

Ezekiel Chapter 44

¹Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looks toward the east; and it was shut. ²Yahweh said to me, This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, neither shall any man enter in by it; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has entered in by it; therefore it shall be shut. ³As for the prince, he shall sit there as prince to eat bread before Yahweh; he shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate, and shall go out by the same way.

⁴Then he brought me by the way of the north gate before the house; and I looked, and behold, Yahweh's glory filled the house of Yahweh: and I fell on my face.

⁵Yahweh said to me, Son of man, mark well, and see with your eyes, and hear with your ears all that I tell you concerning all the ordinances of the house of Yahweh, and all its laws; and mark well the entrance of the house, with every exit of the sanctuary. ⁶You shall tell the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh: you house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations, ⁷in that you have brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to profane it, even my house, when you offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant, [to add] to all your abominations. ⁸You have not performed the duty of my holy things; but you have set performers of my duty in my sanctuary for yourselves. ⁹Thus says LordOfMine Yahweh, No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any foreigners who are among the children of Israel.

¹⁰But the Levites who went far from me, when Israel went astray, who went astray from me after their idols, they shall bear their iniquity. ¹¹Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house, and ministering in the house: they shall kill the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them. ¹²Because they ministered to them before their idols, and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel; therefore have I lifted up my hand against them, says LordOfMine Yahweh, and they shall bear their iniquity. ¹³They shall not come near to me, to execute the office of priest to me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, to the things that are most holy; but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed. ¹⁴Yet I will make them performers of the duty of the house, for all its service, and for all that shall be done there.

¹⁵But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, who performed the duty of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister to me; and they shall stand before me to offer to me the fat and the blood, says LordOfMine Yahweh: ¹⁶they shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister to me, and they shall keep my instruction.

Proverbs Chapter 31

¹The words of King Lemuel; the revelation which his mother taught him.
²"Oh, my son!
Oh, son of my womb!
Oh, son of my vows!
³Don't give your strength to women,
nor your ways to what destroys kings.
⁴It is not for kings, Lemuel,
it is not for kings to drink wine,
nor for princes to say, 'Where is strong drink?'
⁵lest they drink, and forget the law,
and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
⁶Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish,
and wine to the bitter in soul.
⁷Let him drink, and forget his poverty,
and remember his misery no more.
⁸Open your mouth for the mute,
in the cause of all who are left desolate.

Hebrews Chapter 11

²⁸By faith, he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.

²⁹By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to do so, they were swallowed up.

³⁰By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down, after they had been encircled for seven days.

³¹By faith, Rahab the prostitute didn't perish with those who were disobedient, having received the spies in peace.

³²What more shall I say? For the time would fail me if I told of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets, ³³who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked out righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, ³⁴quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, grew mighty in war, and caused foreign armies to flee. ³⁵Women received their dead by resurrection. Others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. ³⁶Others were tried by mocking and scourging, yes, moreover by bonds and imprisonment. ³⁷They were stoned. They were sawn apart. They were tempted. They were slaughtered with the sword. They went around in sheep skins and in goat skins; being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated; ³⁸of whom the world was not worthy, wandering in deserts, mountains, caves, and the holes of the earth.

³⁹These all, having had testimony given to them through their faith, didn't receive the promise, ⁴⁰God having provided some better thing concerning us, so that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

Hebrews Chapter 12

¹So let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let's run with perseverance the race that is set before us, ²looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

³For consider him who has endured such contradiction of shortcomers against himself, that you don't grow weary, fainting in your souls. ⁴You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin; ⁵and you have forgotten the strong-encouragement which reasons with you as with sons, "My son, don't take lightly the discipline of ForeverOne, nor faint when you are reproved by him; ⁶for whom ForeverOne selflessly-loves, he disciplines, and chastises every son whom he receives."

⁷It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with sons, for what son is there whom his father doesn't discipline? ⁸But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not sons. ⁹Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? ¹⁰For they indeed, for a few days, punished us as seemed good to them; but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.
