Deuteronomy 24:7-22

Deuteronomy Chapter 24

7If a man is found stealing any of his brothers of the children of Israel, and he treats him as a slave, or sells him, then that thief must die. In this way you'll remove the evil from among you.

8Be careful with the plague of leprosy. Diligently keep and do all that the Levitical priests teach you. You must observe to do just as I commanded them. 9Remember what Yahweh your God did to Miriam, on the journey as you came from Egypt.

10When you lend your neighbor any kind of loan, don't go into his house to get his pledge. 11Stand outside, and the man you are lending to will bring the pledge out to you. 12If he is a poor man, don't sleep with his pledge. 13You must surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, so that he may sleep in his garment and bless you. It is righteousness before Yahweh your God.

14Don't oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates. 15Pay him his wages [on the same] day before the sun goes down, for he is poor and sets his heart on it, otherwise he might cry against you to Yahweh, and [it would be] sin [for you].

16Fathers must not be put to death [for their] children, nor children put to death [for their] fathers. Every man is to be put to death for his own sin.

17Don't deprive a foreigner or fatherless of justice, or take a widow's clothing in pledge; 18but remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and Yahweh your God redeemed [you from] there. Therefore I command you to do this.

19When you reap your harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, don't go back to get it. [Leave it for] the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow, so that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. 20When you beat your olive tree, don't go over the boughs again. It's for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

21When you harvest your vineyard, don't glean it afterwards yourselves. It's for the foreigner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. 22Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt. [That's why] I command you to do this thing.

Micah 2:12-4:10

24 verses

Micah Chapter 2

12I will surely assemble, Jacob, all of you; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they will swarm with people. 13He who breaks open the way goes up before them. They break through the gate, and go out. And their king passes on before them, with Yahweh at their head.

Micah Chapter 3

1I said, "Please listen, you heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: Isn't it for you to know justice? 2You who hate the good, and love the evil; who tear off their skin, and their flesh from off their bones; 3who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the cauldron. 4Then they will cry to Yahweh, but he will not answer them. Yes, he will hide his face from them at that time, because they made their deeds evil."

5Thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets who lead my people astray; for those who feed their teeth, they proclaim, "Peace!" and whoever doesn't provide for their mouths, they prepare war against him: 6"Therefore night is over you, with no vision, and it is dark to you, that you may not divine; and the sun will go down on the prophets, and the day will be black over them. 7The seers shall be disappointed, and the diviners confounded. Yes, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God." 8But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of Yahweh, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience, and to Israel his sin. 9Please listen to this, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice, and pervert all equity. 10They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 11Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on Yahweh, and say, "Isn't Yahweh in the midst of us? No disaster will come on us." 12Therefore Zion for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.

Micah Chapter 4

1But in the latter days, the mountain of Yahweh's temple will be established on the top of the mountains, and it will be exalted above the hills; and peoples will stream to it. 2Many nations will go and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Zion will go forth the law, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem; 3and he will judge between many peoples, and will decide concerning strong nations far away. They will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war any more. 4But they will sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and no one will make them afraid: For the mouth of Yahweh of Armies has spoken. 5Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods; but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever. 6"In that day," says Yahweh, "I will assemble what is lame, and I will gather what is driven away, and what I have afflicted; 7and I will make what was lame a remnant, and what was thrown far away a strong nation: and Yahweh will reign over them on Mount Zion from then on, even forever." 8You, tower of the flock, the hill of the daughter of Zion, to you it will come, yes, the former dominion will come, the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem. 9Now why do you cry out aloud? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that pains have taken hold of you as of a woman in travail? 10Be in pain, and labor to produce, daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now you will go forth out of the city, and will dwell in the field, and will come even to Babylon. There you will be rescued. There Yahweh will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

Daniel 2:14-29

Daniel Chapter 2

14Then Daniel returned answer with counsel and prudence to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, who was gone forth to kill the wise men of Babylon; 15he answered Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so urgent from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. 16Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would appoint him a time, and he would show the king the interpretation.

17Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: 18that they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his companions should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19Then was the secret revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. 20Daniel answered, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his. 21He changes the times and the seasons; he removes kings, and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding; 22he reveals the deep and secret things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. 23I thank you, and praise you, you God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king's matter.

24Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he went and said thus to him: Don't destroy the wise men of Babylon; bring me in before the king, and I will show to the king the interpretation.

25Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus to him, I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Judah, who will make known to the king the interpretation.

26The king answered Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?

27Daniel answered before the king, and said, The secret which the king has demanded can neither wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor soothsayers, show to the king; 28but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head on your bed, are these:

29as for you, O king, your thoughts came [into your mind] on your bed, what should happen hereafter; and he who reveals secrets has made known to you what shall happen.

Revelation 2:18-3:6

18 verses

Revelation Chapter 2

18"To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: "The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things:

19"I know your actions, your selfless-love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last actions are more than the first. 20But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. 21I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. 22Behold, I will throw her and those who commit adultery with her into a bed of great oppression, unless they repent of her actions. 23I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your actions. 24But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as don't have this teaching, who don't know what some call 'The deep things of Satan,' to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you. 25Nevertheless, hold what you have firmly until I come. 26He who overcomes, and he who keeps my actions to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations. 27He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of my Father: 28and I will give him the morning star. 29He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

Revelation Chapter 3

1"And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: "He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things: "I know your actions, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2Wake up and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no actions of yours perfected before my God. 3So remember how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. So if you won't watch, I will come like a thief, and you won't know what hour I will come upon you. 4Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that didn't defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 5He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.
